Dragon Age--Denerim on a budget
Sep. 6th, 2010 02:39 pmMy second personal quest again resolves itself with me walking up to the antagonist and saying "Push off. I don't want to see you in town again," and then them pushing off. A bit anticlimactic, but whatever gets me in good with the girlfriend.
Wade and Herren are married, and it's adorable to watch them argue.
Sophia's Guard? Who's Sophia? Not the lich from Soldiers' Peak? Because she's all the way dead.
I finally pushed my luck and just killed Weylon, which led to the discovery of the real dead Weylon and a lead for the Sacred Urn somewhere in the western mountains.
Then I spent a lot of time wandering around Denerim. This was supposed to be a wretched hive of scum and villainy. Or at least The Big City, where stuff happened. There were supposed to be back alleys with thugs, and a bar with secret Grey Warden meetings (or traps for Grey Wardens)... Frankly, I was bored. Finally, I hit the gates to go to Orzammar or somewhere and discovered **the City Map**.
And then I gleefully went and killed all the bandits. I was on my way to the Big Boss's warehouse when I stumbled on a Revenant who kicked my ass up and down the street. Of course I hadn't saved since leaving the Market, so I'll have to go over that ground again later.

OMG yes and yes.
And there's a bit with them in the Darkspawn Chronicles DLC (there is something about pretty much everyone in DSC, so that's not really a spoiler) that you need to remind me to tell you about once you finish the game, because it's almost the only thing worth that DLC.

I don't know for certain, but I think I read in the Wiki that they're part of a side quest later...one I've never done.

When you wrote up the last time you played and the running into Weylon, I had to seriously bite my tongue...because of course I knew. :) But I had also discovered through conversation as my first character he was fake, so I never had the joy you got to temporarily experience of being sent off to Lake Calenhad on a wild goose chase (I allowed myself to do so in one of the playthroughs, though, bc it made IC sense and I wanted to know what would happen if I did.)

I have to share that I had to start referring to Denerim as 'Loghain-occupied Denarim (in case you forgot)' after all the cut scenes. But yes, Mos Eisley it is, too. :)
BTW, keep that in mind for the Deep Roads later--it uses the same sub-map mechanic.

Whoops.
Save early and often--it's cheap! Not like RE with the typewriter ribbon. :P
Speaking of which, I saw Zombieland this weekend and it kept running through my head that the main protagonist should totally have been playing RE instead of WoW when the zombie apocalypse hit. But otherwise, his rules were FANTASTIC. :)
