I'm supposed to go to a themed masquerade style party. And the theme is New Orleans. I suck at thinking of costumes. And this is why I hang out with clever people. You should suggest ideas, especially if you're vaguely familar with my wardrobe.
I vote cassock. French = catholic, right? Say you hunt vampires or perform exorcisms or are doing research on zombies for the pope if you need extra flavor. Howzzat?
Tell them they're all sinners for partying during Lent, and offer attonement spankings! And preach the evils of crawfish in the gumbo... er, I mean homosexuality. (It's all Leviticus, right?)
as a side comment, I saw some very inventive costumes at the mardi gras right after katrina. standouts were the blue tarp wearers (for all the blue tarps on damaged roofs), and the red-tape wearers.. there were also folks dressed in garbage bags with little plastic flies glued to them (toxic fridge contents), that kind of thing.
