cyrano: (Demons of Stupid)
[personal profile] cyrano

I snuck into the basement, and searched all over the level for the damned altar that was in the corner of the same room with the earthen jug. hrmph. I got a lot better at pulling a few enemies out of large groups, which made me happy. The resolution was a little frustrating in how long it took to get to, but satisfying in its essential content. (What was up with a Dalish elf summoning demons? Dude!) PS: If you're part of a tight knit little group of outcasts, and one of your fellows comes through and offers to help you out of a jam? Don't lie to them. They will see that you get eaten by wolves. Bitch.

Then we went south and found Shale. I didn't pay for this DLC, so I can't feel *too* demanding, but it did seem a bit thin on the ground. Again we have the 'small child is possessed by a demon and if you kill the demon you kill the child' routine. This time? I just said 'screw it' and put her down, and told her dad I couldn't find her. Honestly, I'm not sure about Shale yet. I can't tell if he's being serious or if he's fucking with me, but I told him that his crystals didn't make his ass look big.

Her dad pissed me off because when I told him I found her but couldn't save her, he was like "Oh well, have this stuff." DUDE I JUST FUCKING KILLED YOUR ONLY CHILD. WTF.

Shale has an insanely dry sense of humor. The fact that you can't tell if he's being serious or fucking with you amuses me to no end, though. :D

I just started The Stolen Throne, and and squeeed with delight when Shale made an appearance. :)

Shale + Zeveron? Best conversations EVER.

It's very sad--most of the conversations I miss at least half of, because they're out of audible range when they start and I usually go through a door or hit combat or something that cuts off the end.

There *should* be an Option to tweak the audio and/or turn subtitles "Always On" so the text pops up on the screen, even if you can't hear them. That's how I catch most of it. And I will stop what I'm doing and turn around to 'watch' the dialogue, because some of them are fantastic. :)

Also, I've noticed there seems to be certain locations in the game that will always trigger a conversation. Even if you've been there before, it will trip another one if you cross the same point later.

If you poke around in the codex (or just past it), there's a log of conversations, too.

Shale is *fantastic*.

Protip: Have Shale with you in Orzrimmar. That's all I'ma say about that.
